Our services
Since more than 35 years now, the crisis Center L’autre Maison inc. offers a variety of services that aims at meeting the needs of adults and their relatives, who lives punctual or recurrent crisis situations that affects their well-being and often cause a major distress. These crisis situations are very varied and often involve the presence of a risk, that is to say a potential danger for the person in crisis and for their loved ones. We try to reduce or avoid the use of psychiatric hospitalization. We also help to relieve congestion in hospital emergency rooms and front-line mental health services. We offer a rapid response and intensive support to women and men as well as their loved ones and families. These people are often exhausted by the complexity of the problems they must face, by their lack of financial resources, by their chronic lack of support and by the efforts they must make to succeed in obtaining help.
Other than a phone crisis intervention service, we offer a hosting service (7 beds) and crisis follow up and also a crisis intervention service in the community. Our servicesare offered in english and in french.

The word « crisis » in Chinese is represented by two ideograms which mean danger and opportunity. In a crisis, there is always a possibility of changing, of opening up to other things, to understand the causes and to try to draw the consequences from it. It can be an awareness that allows us to live diffently, on a individual or collective level.
